Scenario analysis is a useful tool that allows policymakers to explore and map plausible futures in a systematic manner; yet there are few examples of applying the tool at local scales, thereby missing the level of detail needed for a better understanding of local processes. This policy brief outlines scenarios of change to 2050, developed in collaboration with local farmers using serious gaming to map the impacts of future land cover change on biodiversity and ecosystems in North-Western province, Zambia.
This brief is part of the Social and Environmental Trade-Offs in African Agriculture (Sentinel) project.
